With over two decades of international experience, Dr. Calvin Young is a highly respected Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and forensic mental health expert. He specializes in mental health counseling, addiction treatment, and forensic evaluations, providing world-class care to individuals, families, and organizations across the United States, Jamaica, and the Caribbean.
Dr. Young holds multiple advanced degrees, including:
- PhD in Psychology
- A Master of Science (MSc) in Counseling with an emphasis on addiction assessment, treatment, and psychometrics.
- A Master of Science (MSc) in Human Services Administration.
- A Master of Arts (MA) in Human and Organizational Development.
His extensive certifications and credentials include:
- Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the State of Illinois.
- Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) certified to work with USDOT stakeholders.
- Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy (C-DBT) Practitioner.
- Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider (C-SOTP).
- Certified Medical Addiction Expert (CMAE).
- Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider (CMHIMP).

Dr. Young is also a veteran of the United States Army, bringing a unique perspective to his work with trauma survivors, veterans, and individuals struggling with substance abuse and mental health challenges.
Committed to a holistic and integrative approach, Dr. Young combines evidence-based therapies with complementary and alternative treatments, including neurofeedback, nutritional sciences, and herbal medicine, to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of healing. His work has positively impacted clients in inpatient, outpatient, and forensic settings, and he is recognized for his expertise in expert witness testimony, DUI assessments, and sex offender treatment.
Dr. Young is also a lecturer and visiting professor at several universities, where he teaches counseling, psychology, and related disciplines. He is the founder of the Institute for Addiction Treatment, Training, and Research (IATTAR-C), which provides addiction counseling certification programs and world-class treatment services in Jamaica and beyond.
